Managing land and water
The landscape of the Broads National Park we see today is a result of centuries of natural processes and interactions between people and their environment.
The Broads is one of Europe's most important wetlands for nature conservation. It also attracts more than seven million visitors every year and we aim to help balance the needs of the environment, local residents, local businesses and those visitors through our work.
Our work
We are responsible for the integrated management of land and water in the Broadland area. This includes conserving local wildlife, improving habitats, maintaining visitor facilities and our award-winning work in dredging. Partnerships
Partnership working is central to achieving our objectives. We are a key organisation in a network of specialist partners, including the Environment Agency, RSPB, Wildlife Trusts and more that help realise the Broads Plan - the long term management strategy for the Broads.
