Celebrity opening for Broads beekeepers' new training apiary

Martha Kearney, presenter of BBC Radio 4’s flagship lunchtime news programme ‘The World at One’, will open the Waveney Beekeepers’ Group’s brand new training apiary at Grange Farm, Barsham near Beccles at midday on Saturday 11th September.

Somerleyton Swing Bridge Update

Network Rail and train operator National Express East Anglia have amended the Lowestoft – Norwich train timetable to enable an extra opening of Somerleyton Bridge for boat traffic during weekdays from Monday 16th August. They have also increased two 50 minute slots to a full hour on Sundays.

The Norfolk and Suffolk Broads is Britain's largest protected wetland and third largest inland waterway, with the status of a national park. It's also home to some of the rarest plants and animals in the UK. The Broads Authority was set up in 1989, with responsibility for conservation, planning, recreation and waterways.
