The Broads Authority has helped students from organisations including the YMCA, City College and Future Education, among others, to attain their awards in recent years.
The John Muir Award in the Broads offers an exciting opportunity for participants to meet the challenges of a national environmental award scheme focused on wild places and which is closely linked to key aims of the Broads Authority including:
The Award is open to all, regardless of age or background, to encourage everyone to explore the Broads, to take some responsibility for conserving it, and to share their experiences.
The award involves meeting four Challenges:
The wild place can be anywhere in or around the Broads from a local pond or wildlife garden to a fen or broad.
There are three levels of John Muir Award requiring more commitment and effort at each progressive level.
