The Broads Authority open morning is taking place on Saturday 13 May, from 10am to 2pm at Whitlingham Country Park, Trowse, Norwich.
There’ll be pond dipping, badge making and other activities, plus a chance to chat to members and staff, including our rangers. Stands will include information on conservation, land management, our environment maintenance, planning, climate change, volunteers and education.
The Chief Executive, John Packman, will give a presentation on the work of the Authority at 11am, with an opportunity to ask questions afterwards.
“Come and find out about how we and our partners keep the Broads National Park special for its community and for visitors. Everyone is very welcome, just turn up on the day from 10am. We look forward to seeing you,” he said.
Tea, coffee, cold drinks and cake will be provided. The event is free to attend. Whitlingham Visitor Centre will be open as usual. Normal charges apply for car parks.
The open day is part of the 22-day Broads Outdoors Festival, running from 30 April to 21 May. It features a range of activities and events across the Broads including canoe taster sessions, special mill open days, sailing trips on Norfolk wherries, sketching and photography events, and activity days. You’ll find full details of all festival events on the new site, Visit the Broads.
