Broads Authority Committee

Members make decisions and consult on management of the Broads at Authority meetings and smaller meetings for individual committees and forums.

Current vacancies

Appointment of Co-opted Member to Navigation Committee

The Authority is currently inviting people to apply to be a member of its Navigation Committee. The new appointment will take effect from April 2025, following consultation with those organisations representing "Category A: Such bodies appearing to the Authority to represent the owners of pleasure craft available for hire or reward as it considers appropriate."

Applicants should have a good knowledge of the Broads and its special qualities; the navigation area and current relevant issues; and the varied recreational uses of the Broads.

Applicants should be available to attend a minimum of five meetings a year on weekdays. A modest co-optee allowance and reasonable expenses will be paid.

Appointments are subject to consultation with various bodies as provided by the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads Act 1988.

Meetings

All meetings are open to the public. If you wish to attend any of the meetings, please contact us in advance of the meeting. You can download all agendas and documents from this site except exempt items.

The Broads Authority has resolved to support remote meetings for non-decision making Committee meetings. The committee meeting date pages will advise if the meeting is to be held remotely. Public access will be made available via a live stream. To view the live stream, visit the relevant committee meeting date page. The live stream will be available to view in the video player at the scheduled start time. Please see the Standing Orders - Procedure rules for remote meetings for more information.

Under the Openness of Local Government Bodies Regulations (2014), filming, photographing and making an audio recording of public meetings is permitted. These activities however, must not disrupt the meeting. Further details can be found on the Filming, photography and recording of public meetings page.

To request recordings of any of our meetings (except confidential items) please make your request in writing by emailing our Governance Team or contacting us by letter.
