How do I comment on an application?
You are welcome to comment on a planning application received by us, whether you are supporting or objecting to it.
You can comment either:
- Online by using the application search facility. You will need to register first then search for the application which will feature a link for commenting, if we are still accepting them.
- By writing to us with the application reference number, your name and address. Details are on our contact us page.
Please note comments will be publicly available and we cannot take confidential representations into account.
For information on what issues we can and cannot consider please see how we make decisions.
You can also attend Planning Committee meetings and speak at them about an application. Our leaflet on speaking at Planning Committee meetings has more information and you can find the upcoming agendas on our Planning Committee page.
You can also see public consultations which we carry out for significant or controversial developments. This process is done in line with our Consultation Code of Practice.
